2013: the next financial meltdown

Brace yourself and batten down the hatches. Nouriel Roubini, the economist who correctly called the global financial meltdown well before it happened, is warning that we're in for another meltdown.

Interviewed on CNBC, Roubini says we are heading for a perfect storm two years from now.

He thinks the second half of the year could be slightly better than the first half, but don't be fooled. That, he says, is just forestalling the inevitable. The perfect storm will come in 2013.

What makes the perfect storm? Roubini explains. ""We now have a problem in the US after the election if we don't resolve our fiscal problems. China is overheating…eventually it's going to have a hard landing… "I see every economy in the world trying to push their problems to the future," he said. "We start with private debt, public debt, supra-national debt-we're kicking the can down the road and eventually this is going to come to a head in 2013."
