Birth of space tourism?

Creating markets where no man has gone before. It looks like we are a step closer to space tourism with Richard Branson's space tourism rocket SpaceShipTwo, part of his Virgin Galactic venture, achieving its first solo glide flight over the weekend. Whereas before it had flown attached to the wing of its special jet-powered mothership dubbed WhiteKnightTwo, this time around it flew freely. OK, for just 11 minutes, but space tourism advocates are proclaiming it as a significant milestone.

At the same time, the Russians are talking about building the first hotel in outer space. As reported here, they expect it to have it up and running six years from now. Orbital Technologies, the company behind the scheme, reckons it will accommodate tourists and scientists.

Given the state the world is in, there might be many wanting to relocate.
