Google is in trouble again with the company admitting its Street View cars picked up web addresses, emails and passwords from an unknowing and trusting public. Google claims it was all inadvertent and will do everything it can to rectify the problem so it won't happen again.
Maybe, but it's all part of a worrying trend of privacy lapses at tech companies.
During the week, I blogged about how Facebook was sending personal details of people playing Farmville and other games to advertisers.
And Business Insider reports that Google's android apps share information about users with advertisers.
In both cases, users of the apps and Farmville have no idea their information is being passed on to advertisers. At the very least, both Facebook and Google need to let users know where their information is going.
It also suggests that the latest revelation of privacy breaches with Google's Street View cars is no coincidence.
