The biggest security threat of 2011 will be the scams on Facebook, says IT security firm Sophos.
The big ones now appearing on Facebook are particularly nasty and sneaky because they appeal to people's sense of narcissism.
Apps are popping up on Facebook asking users if they would like to know how many people have viewed their Facebook page. The app goes by a few different names including ProfileSpy and Pro Check. It promises to show you how many people have viewed your Facebook page if you grant it access to your information. Anyone going there will be exposing their profile to malware. They also be sharing personal information with an entity that's likely to fill your system with spam.
The Huffington Post tells you have to fill out a small survey and grant the app permission to your information. Be warned.
