12 brands that will die

Say goodbye to Avis/Budget, Borders, AIG, Esquire Magazine, Chrysler and Palm. These are some of the brands that will be killed by the recession and that won't survive until the end of next year.

These are among the companies on the death list compiled by by 24/7 Wall St.
The analysis is pretty thorough. It looks at sales performance, debt levels and competition. It's hard to fault and makes fascinating reading, in a gruesome sort of way.

If the forecasts are right, there will be many casualties before the recovery comes and the business landscape will look very different within the next two years.
