I've talked about how much of a money spinner Sarbanes-Oxley has been for accountants.
But they work for it too.
New research from Robert Half shows that finance professionals are putting in longer hours, especially in Japan. And the biggest increase in working hours is in Hong Kong, no doubt because of Emerging Markets like China.
The study also reveals that a lot of beancounters don't switch off easily. They'll take their laptops and PDAs with them on vacation, and they will respond to emails and phone calls in the evening. The only exception seems to Spain.
