Accounting growth soars, despite recession

I always talk about how accountants are recession-proof. The last blog entry I did on it looked at how they are enjoying above-average salary increases, despite the downturn.

Now a new survey, reported here, shows that CPA firms reported growth of up to 19% in the two years to June 2008, when the markets had turned pear-shaped. It will be interesting to see whether this continues as the financial crisis deepens. But so far, things are looking good for bean counters.
