I have done numerous blog entries like the one here on how British defense contractor BAE Systems got out of jail following allegations of bribing the Saudi Arabian government. Or other entries, like this one, on how it did business with a company linked to a Zimbabwean arms trader connected to Zimbabwe's despot Robert Mugabe.
Now after so many years, the net has closed although for matters not connected with the Saudi Arabians or Mugabe. We now have reports that BAE has pleaded guilty in a US court to charges of being less than truthful about its compliance with the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The case was investigated by the FBI. BAE Systems will now have to pay a $400 million fine.
