It wasn't that long ago that the New York Post came out with the report that Ponzi scheme-meister Bernard Madoff was dying of cancer. The Bureau of Prisons issued a statement denying that Madoff had cancer but The Wall Street Journal backed the New York Post.
So now we have reports that Madoff has been transferred from his cell to a low security medical center at the prison. Madoff reportedly experienced dizziness and high blood pressure and would remain there for observation.
Not that there would be too many shedding a tear. Ex-con Larry Levine, who now consults white collar crooks inside the slammer, says, Madoff can "rot in hell". The Law and More blog says Madoff might just be going nuts. "If Madoff is not sick with a physical malady perhaps he is fulfilling the Shakespearean prophecy of how those wheelers and dealers at the top 'go wild into the grave.' Madoff might have sunk into a depression, had a psychotic break, or, who knows, might have even gone postal."
