The micro-blogging Twitter might be gaining 5,000 to 10,000 new accounts a day but lawyers are warning that it could be dangerous.
Tresa Baldas in the National Law Journal says lawyers are warning that posting tweets from a corporate network could be subpoenaed in a lawsuit. They are also warning there are potential invasion of privacy and defamation issues, not to mention the potential for it to trigger claims for workplace retaliation and wrongful termination.
The other big issue is that tweets could be open to misinterpretation. When you think about it, 140 characters does not necessarily give you that much flexibility.
Just goes to show that the lawyers are looking everywhere to try to litigate and make money and create mayhem.
