After the uproar, O'Reilly has now come out and said he has scrapped the plan.
In an interview in Wired magazine, O'Reilly concedes it was probably a dumb idea. "I've come to think the call for a code of conduct was a bit misguided."
Still, it gave him lots of coverage and publicity.
