As expected, most companies in the US are continuing to fill their board rooms with the same sorts of people: white, male and mostly in their 50s. According to a new report, Women on Boards: Missed Opportunities published by the InterOrganization Network (ION) - a group of eight regional organizations located across the US - there were 539 new independent directors elected to the boards of public companies across the regions during the past year. Only 17.1 per cent were women

One answer comes from the DirectWomen Institute, as reported on the law.com site.

The institute aims to match female lawyers up with companies looking for directors.

Pity it's just for attorneys because there's a lot more talent out there that's not in the legal field. But it's a start.
