Carl Icahn's corporate governance blog debut

Corporate raider and shareholder activist Carl Icahn plans to set up a corporate governance blog, according to news reports. There is nothing on The Icahn Report yet but Icahn says he plans to use the forum to highlight sticky issues at companies. That includes outfits where he is not an investor.
Just how it pans out remains to be seen. Blogging can take up a lot of time and you would think Icahn's got lots of other things to do.
The telegraph
's James Quinn goes so far as to ask whether he has put that much though into it."Does a man who appears to be as busy and as wealthy as Icahn - he has a personal fortune of $14.5 billion - really have the time or the inclination to be blogging away, night and day?'' Quinn writes."The best blogs tend to be those that are interactive, where the blogger has debates with readers, and reacts as things happen. If Icahn wants to be a proper blogger, surely he should be poised the moment something happens? Using a corporate governance example, if Tesco suddenly announces that Sir Terry Leahy is to step up to become chairman, will Icahn be online to share his thoughts on this clear breach of the Combined Code? Or will he use his blog - as Wall Street Life suspects - as an opportunity to grandstand and not interact with others? Clearly only time will tell - and if he really does make a go of it, then it could prove to be one of the most watched, if not most interesting, blogs in the business world. If not, as with so many blogs, icahnreports.com will just disappear into the ether, never to be read again."
