Coffee producers reckon they're being hammered by global warming .
International Coffee Organization figures show that production in Latin America dipped last year, mainly because of poor weather. Producers say they are struggling to stay afloat. In Colombia, one of the world's largest producers, production slumped 30-35% while Costa Rica and El Salvador are struggling to recover from poor harvests in 2000-2005.
What's clear is that the price of coffee is going to go up. Just something else that will contribute to inflationary pressures.
The effects of global warming on other agricultural industries like wine are already being felt. It's something I examined here and it will keep rolling through various sectors.
There are many, like Sarah Palin, who claim that global warming is a hoax. But then, they don't have to work for a living.
