Conrad Black: Revenge is Mine
Just two weeks out from his fraud and racketeering trial, Conrad Black reckons he will triumph and wreak revenge on his persecutors and sue everyone who defamed him, writes Patricia Best in the Globe and Mail .

It's an intriguing account of her dinner with the man she describes as Celebrity Accused.

Black tells her there is a growing movement of support for him and that people are coming out from everywhere.

"I receive e-mails every day from people expressing their support for me." Black says. "The Conrad Black Movement is growing and ramifying exponentially."

This is coming from a man who faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life in jail.

So what exactly is this "Conrad Black Movement"? Who are its members?

Let's check out the mysterious Ad Hoc Committee For Conrad Black. It's set up a website www.suppportlordblack.com trying to drum up support for the media mogullinks in his battle with "grandstanding US prosecutors and a hostile left-wing press".

The site carries tributes from all the usual suspects including Margaret Thatcher, Mark Steyn and William F Buckley Jr, and some words from Black himself: ''I want to get on with it...I want to expose this case for the complete fraud that it is."

Meanwhile, Toronto designer Wendy Tancock has come up with the T-shirts bearing the message: free Conrad!

You can read more about that here.

Now, a website and T-shirt don't amount to a mass movement but one thing's for sure: this is going to be one hell of trial and it will be just as fascinating to watch the watchers.
