corporate crime

One year after his incarceration, convicted fraudster Conrad Black seems to be adjusting to life in the slammer. In an interview with the National Post's Theresa Tedesco, done via email, Black says he is as busy as ever, reading until 1.30am, reviewing, tutoring fellow inmates and responding to email. Curiously, he says: "The people I mainly see here are often not unlike people I might know outside". Which might tell us plenty.
But don't believe the time he spends behind bars will make him think about where he went wrong. No way. Black continues to push the line that he was framed and unjustly treated, claiming that the US has an ethos for locking people up which, he says, means there is something wrong with the US justice system.
Forget the way Black and associates looted cash and other assets from Hollinger to create a corporate kleptocracy. Naah, Black says he was just a victim. No amount of time in jail will change that. Some people never learn.

He's still in denial, but it doesn't matter. He will never have power and influence again.
