Conrad Black turns to comedy

The pompous greed-head might be facing decades in jail, he might be barred from returning to the country of his birth, but convicted crook Conrad Black has shown he has an extraordinary ability to poke fun at himself, reports Andrew Clark in The Guardian.

Part of it might be to promote books sales of his latest tome Richard M. Nixon: A Life in Full but it's still hilarious to see Black appearing on the CBC comedy program, the Rick Mercer Report, to do a spoof on a Martha Stewart style instructional video on how to iron, wax and display the country's national emblem, the Maplelinks leaf. With one or two veiled references in the clip to how he probably won't be back in Canada for some time ("Here we have a perfectly waxed maple leaf, a great solace to everyone and especially to those who, for complicated reasons, can't at first-hand observe the changing of the seasons this autumn in Canada".)

All good marketing for the book, Black's literary agent Michael Levine told the Chicago Tribune.

Watch the clip here and enjoy.
