Conrad Black's prison letters

From the Globe and Mail, we have the first of Conrad Black's prison letters. And it sounds like the convicted fraudster is holding up quite well.

The letter, which comes with the insignia across the top The Lord Black of Crossharbour, shows that Black has not lost his touch. With an ego that should be donated to science, he is irrepressible.

"Obviously I would prefer not to be here, but it is unthreatening, not threatening, and even up to a point, somewhat interesting. I have always thought Obama would implode and I don't think he can survive the Wright business. I have indeed received an avalanche of good wishes, and you will have heard my counsel's and my expressions of confidence that this horrible persecution, which has destroyed the Hollinger companies, will end with a just and complete acquittal."

If not, he has a long wait with his projected release date in October 2013. Unless of course, it's overturned on appeal.
