Dumb CEOs and email
Filed in archive strategy by leon on June 12, 2008

It was amazing enough to read the report that President Bush has not sent a single email message during his eight years in power. Apparently, it's all that concern about the commander-in-chief's concern about disclosing politically sensitive and embarrassing discussions. Since I do not want my private conversations looked at by those out to embarrass, the only course of action is not to correspond in cyberspace," he has reportedly said.
But then on the other hand, if the president uses email, it is subject to the Presidential Records Act, which requires electronic records to be copied and saved to a central database and which allows anyone from the public to access those records 12 years after a president leaves office. So there is a reason. It's called paranoia.
Harder to explain why fat cat chief executive officers, like Countrywide's Angelo Mozilo, can't tell the difference between a forward key and reply. More details in this report. Either dumb or stupendously arrogant.
