FBI reports: fraud cases are up

Another sign that times are getting tough. The market gyrations and subprime crisis are providing plenty of opportunities for the unscrupulous, says the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

An FBI document, Financial crimes report to the public, reveals that securities and commodities fraud cases have increased substantially. The report also notes that insurance fraud in the wake of Hurricane Katrina is also up.
