The Gates foundation was formed in 1994 with an initial stock gift of $94 million. Recently Bill Gates spoke at the University of Chicago where he talked about how the foundation was focusing on international health and diseases which were affecting Third World people as pharmaceutical companies were least interested in them.
Over a decade, Gates Foundation has dedicated $4.5 billion towards prescription drugs and vaccines. Another $10 billion has been promised for vaccines in third world countries.
