GM's crash test plea

Everyone knows the problems General Motors has been having building the sort of autos that people don't want to drive any more. So much so that GM and Ford have dragged the US car industry into a steep decline.

What then to make of GM chief Bob Lutz coming out with his demand for a three year moratorium on crash testing so that auto makers can bring fuel efficient models to the U.S. market faster?

It's not good enough for GM to get $50B in loans to help them pay the costs of making cars more fuel efficient. It's not good enough to get bankrolled by the US Government. Now they want to put public safety at risk.
