This week Microsoft announced the winner of its contest to find a jingle for its search engine Bing. It's called Bing Goes The Internet by Jonathan Mann. It really stinks, which might say a few things about Microsoft. Check it out and see for yourself.
The song has been canned everywhere with MG Siegler at TechCrunch calling it the "worst jingle ever" and blogs like the Pophangover site calling it "the most awful… the most painful… the most hideous thing you will ever witness in your life."
They have a point. it's pretty bad. Still, the negative reaction to the jingle has given Microsoft fantastic publicity. And for $500, that's been a good investment.
