Jail and no bail for Conrad Black

Bad news for Conrad Black with reports that he is likely to start jail in four weeks time when Chicago judge Amy St. Eve dismissed his motion to remain free on bail while he appeals his criminal conviction. Black has been ordered to report to jail on March 3 to start his six and half year sentence.

But true to form, Black is not going down without a fight and he expects to win his appeal. "We always assumed we had a better chance with the Court of Appeal and will be going there next," he told the globe and maillinks in an email.
