Ken Lay's $25,000 desk comes up $1 short
Earlier this month, Saving Animals Across Borders came out with the announcement that it was flogging the desks of Enron chairman, the late Ken Lay, its chief executive Jeff Skilling (now doing 24 years time) and Richard Kinder on eBay for charity.

You can check out the desk on eBay ("Used Exclusively by Lay from 1987 until His Departure") here.

Turns out that Lay's desk, which was going for a minimum of $25,000, was too expensive for the bidders. One dollar too expensive, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Only one person offered the $25,000 minimum for the desk, and that failed to meet the secret "reserve price" - of $25,001. Which means it goes back up until they sell it.

The non-profit animal agency is looking forward to the sale. Just another piece of one of America's finest companies gone to the dogs.
