Limited liability for US auditors coming in?

Filed in archive Accounting by leon on June 18, 2008

Last week, I looked at how European auditors were on the way to getting limited liability.

Now it looks like their US counterparts are going to get the same thing with reports that the Securities and Exchange Commission is coming under pressure to accept limited liability deals for auditors.

These sorts of changes are in the self-interest of the accounting industry. They are very much not in the interest of shareholders.
