Wall Street swindler Bernard Madoff might be moving his way up the prison hierarchy with the New York Post reporting that he got into a prison yard fight with a fellow inmate, and won! The fight was about, of all things, the state of the stock market. Exactly what was said is not known but witnesses say the other guy, also a senior citizen, pushed Madoff who shoved him back even harder, causing him to stumble.
Now that Madoff is getting a reputation as a brawler, it's time to start asking what's next. That's led to CNBC to pop the question: who would win if Madoff went up against Enron fraudster Jeff Skilling? Other potential fight contenders according to that list are Allen Stanford, Martha Stewart, Bernie Ebbers and Dennis Kozlowski.
Of course, they've forgotten about one other rogue: Conrad Black. And frankly, my money would be on the ex-media mogul. Having met Black once before many years ago when I was the journalist union representative, I would say Madoff would be crushed under Black's ego.
