So now Bernard Madoff's son has turned into a Wall Street warrior defending dad's not so good name. The story about his fist fight with securities trader Reed Abend came out on the Dealbreaker blog last week. Apparently, young Madoff was offended when Abend started bad mouthing his dad. The New York Post picked up the yarn and went into more detail.
Then again, Madoff Jr might be defending more than what's left of his father's honor. As The Wall Street Journal points out, Bernard Madoff used that Ponzi scheme to lend millions of dollars to his family, including his son. The apple, as they say, doesn't fall far from the tree.
