Interesting developments in relation to the activity surrounding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Now we have reports that the US Justice Department has started targeting inidviduals, not just companies, for bribery and corruption. This is quite strategic. It not only puts the heat on individuals, but it also substantially raises the profile of the enforcement program. That's probably important given my report this week of a study which found that 84 per cent of global respondents had never heard of the FCPA.

The we have some interesting cases, including one where the FCPA has gone Hollywood where producer Gerald Green and his wife Patricia were charged with brbing a Thai official to win the $10 million contract to manage the Bangkok International Film Festival and oil contractor Willbros getting fined more than $32 million to settle charges that it bribed officials in nigerialinks and Ecuador to obtain major oil and gas contracts
