strategy

I have already looked at ways to save the print media , identifying certain strategies including one of drawing closer to readers and secondly to create new revenue models.
Now the Financial Times reports that Rupert Murdoch has developed a new model for The Times and Sunday Times where people pay a small membership fee and receive access to special events and offers.
Now, whether it will work or not depends on those events and offers. The Financial Times does not go into any detail and one assumes, News Corporation was not that forthcoming. So the jury is out.
Still, as a strategy it makes sense. It's probably one of the only ways newspapers will survive. But that's provided they come up with the sort of offers and events that people want and need.
