The Sarah Palin sideshow continues to amaze the world.

Last week, I did a blog entry looking at bloggers speculating whether her resignation was about averting an investigation into whether she embezzled funds.

Now, Palin has hit back on Twitter: "Critics are spinning, so hang in there as they feed false info on the right decision made as I enter last yr in office to not run again...." and also with her lawyers releasing an extraordinary letter threatening to sue anyone including "liberal" Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore if they continue to run the speculation. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law. The Alaska Constitution protects the right of free speech, while simultaneously holding those "responsible for the abuse of that right."

This is fascinating because the The NYT and Washington Posts didn't mention the embezzlement rumors. Interestingly, she says nothing about suing definitely non-Liberal Fox which gave the story a run:



Just what planet is Palin coming from? When politicians start threatening to sue the media, it really is a no win situation. All people like me were doing was our job: we were just reporting rumors about a public figure. As Dolores Bernal at News Junkie Post says, it means you really have to question her judgement.

"No public official in their right mind should ever even think of picking a fight with the press, unless, they're asking for their careers to be over ... If Palin feels like the press is ruining her 'reputation', she's got it wrong. The only one ruining anything is her own self by her actions and the puzzling things that come out of her mouth."
