Over the last few months, I have done a few entries on Sarbanes-Oxley co-author Michael Oxley's life after leaving Congress. I've talked about him here, here, here , here and here.
Check this interesting Business Makers radio show interview with him where he acknowledges that Section 404 of the Act was too expensive, and insists it had nothing to do with him.
He also repeats that getting rid of Andersen was the worst decision of his time in Congress. He says it would have been better to pillory the firm as a poster child of reform. But at the same time, he says, they shouldn't have given it the death penalty.
