Recovery at least two years off: Krugman

How long will there be until there is a recovery? At least two years, according to Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman.

According to the New York Times, the world avoided a second Great Depression because of big government but he says a recovery is some time away.

''We have managed to avoid a second Great Depression … but full recovery is at least two years and probably more,'' Krugman said.

He also said what's really needed is major reform of the banking sector but expressed concern that there doesn't seem to be much political will for that.

Which suggests we might be back at square one in a few years time.
