The News Corp share price has not been doing that well but that hasn't stopped Rupert Murdoch getting a $30.1 million payout, up 24 per cent from a year before. That's despite the company's share falling more than 50 per cent.
Still, given that he owns 60 per cent of the company, he can pay himself whatever he damn well wants. He would say his holdings at least show that he has a long term commitment to the company. Which is a damn sight more than some of the other overpaid executives around.
