In the past, I have talked about how Michael Oxley cashed in on his role as Sarbox co-author. First, he joined a law firm to help companies get around the law, then he becomes Nasdaq vice-chairman.
Now we have a news report that he and fellow co-author Paul Sarbanes have hit the speaker circuit.
Their fee: Sarbanes makes $25.000 for an appearance and Oxley $20,000. Nice work if you can get it!
This spring Minority Leader Bohnert came to Findlay, Ohio (Oxley’s home town) to give a speech, and spent a segment of the speech talking about how Mike looked at committee assignments as a means of creating future income.
Guess it worked.
At the same time the economy of the 4th district was falling apart and Oxley never seemed to notice.
