Siemens, corruption and corporate social responsibility

The fallout from the Siemens saga continues with trials of two figures, including a former board member, now well under way, reports Deutsche Welle. Charges are around invoices for work that was never done, and the misappropriation of company funds. And it's just the beginning.

Which might explain why Siemens has announced it is establishing a 400 million Euro foundation to promote corporate social responsibility. That's a lot of money, but well short of the 1 billion euros Siemens is estimated to have spent in bribes.
