Fastow, who pleaded guilty to two charges of conspiracy in 2004 and agreed to serve 10 years in prison and to forfeit $23.4m in assets, in exchange for singing to the prosecutors, is presenting himself as a changed man. In a court filing, his lawyers are saying he is now devoted himself to Meals on Wheels, Katrina Victims and lots of valuable volunteer work at his small synagogue, reports the Washington Post.
Fastow agreed to 10 years in the slammer, but his lawyers reckon he deserves a reduced sentence and instead be sent off to do hours of community service. Fastow will be sentenced this week.
Meanwhile, Jeff Skilling has been arrested and booked for public intoxication in Dallas earlier this month. He was picked up at 1:45 a.m. on September 9. He wasn't drinking when he was arrested and didn't resist arrest, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Skilling faces 20 to 30 years in prison for fraud, conspiracy, insider trading and lying to auditors and he is scheduled to be sentenced October 23.
Given what he's facing, it's not surprising the man's hitting the bottle. First Lay's death, now this. How the mighty have fallen.

Former Enron chief executive officer Jeffrey Skilling and chief financial officer Andy Fastow are moving in very different directions in the image they are presenting to the court at sentencing.
