Skilling to the slammer

Here is the view from Jeff Skilling's four-bunk cell at the Federal Correctional Institution in Waseca, which lies south of Minneapolis. The undated photo, provided by the US Department of Corrections, shows the scene inside the former branch campus of the University of Minnesota that a decade was converted into a low security prison. The former Enron boss will share his cell, once a college dorm, with three other inmates.

Earlier this week, the Appeals Court postponed his report date so that the court could consider his request for bail pending appeal.

The following day, the court denied Skilling's request for time which means he is expected to start his 24 years behind bars today.

The houston chronicle's Loren Steffy dropped into Waseca and reports that authorities there are looking forward to meeting him.

As the mayor told Steffy: "We do have a little bit of a buzz going about Mr. Skilling. He will be our most infamous inmate."
