Struggling airlines turn to sex

A curious thing is happening in the airline industry. After losing billions of dollars in the global financial meltdown, more are starting to use sex to attract business.

First we have the reports that the uniforms of stewardesses from bankrupt Japan Airlines are being sold to sex clubs. Apparently people will pay anything to be entertained by some woman wearing the gear. It takes all types.

Last year, we had reports of Air New Zealand was running ads with staff wearing nothing but body paint. All aimed to get more bums of seats.

Then we have this ad from Virgin Atlantic of stewardess in short skirts and high heels:

Not to be outdone, you should see this one from Virgin in Australia:

Full of saucy looking stewardesses and finishing off with Richard Branson saying: "Just wait until we get it up".

Still the problems confronting the aviation industry are profound and we're seeing real reshaping going on with the push to cheaper fares. It will take more than sex to save it.
