Global temperatures are set to rise 6.3 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of this century, according to new reports. These projections are a lot worse than the forecasts two years ago. And sea levels might rise by as much as six feet by 2100 instead of 1.5 feet, as had previously been projected, and the Arctic might experience a sea-ice summer by 2030, rather than by the end of the century.
These forecasts have been made in the lead up to the critical Copenhagen summit in December and will put more pressure on global leaders to come up with a solution. But what are the chances of that happening? Close to zero, reports Der Spiegel with critics saying Obama has failed to put forward any concrete proposals.
