Globalization, changes in risk management, advances in technology, talent and organizational issues, and changing internal auditlinks roles are ranked as the big issues that will reshape internal auditing over the next five years, according to a new PricewaterhouseCoopers study.

According to the study, Internal Audit 2012, most respondents believe globalization will have a huge impact on the profession, particularly with the outsourcing of core functions. Most of them believe that the army of internal auditors will continue to grow, and a large proportion expect to get additional responsibilities put on to them.

Presumably, that means they expect to get paid more. Unless, of course, their job is outsourced.
