Providing some sort of work life balance not only gives you better-adjusted employees, it might also result in a more ethical workplace, according to a new survey reported here.

According to the study, 91 per cent of respondents said workers were more likely to behave ethically on the job when they have a good work/life balance, and 60 per cent said job dissatisfaction was a major reason for people to lie, steal and cheat.

Interestingly, ethics traininglinks and stricter laws don't rate as highly when people are asked about the most effective ways of tackling unethical behavior.

According to the study, only 16 percent said ethics training had a positive influence on promoting ethical workplace behavior and only 10 percent ranked criminal penalties for ethical-conduct violations among the top three factors that foster an ethical workplace environment.
