The credit crisis has taken a toll on the standing of various brands. The latest Interbrand Best Global Brands list has Coca Cola as the world's leading brand, followed by IBM and Microsoft. The list is put together looking at the firm's revenue, economic strength and brand strength.
But what's interesting in this list is the way the financial services sector has been hammered in the wake of the credit crunch.
Citigroup has dropped from 11th to 19th, and Merrill Lynch from 22nd to 34th.
in the press release, Interbrand chief executive officer Jez Frampton says the data reflects what's going on in the global economy.
