Sox First will bring you the latest news on business ethics, corporate crime, compliance and corporate regulation, including Sarbanes-Oxley. We will also follow all the trends for accountants, regulators and corporate lawyers. We do this by trawling the web, reading widely and interviewing key players.

My latest book, Organisations Behaving Badly: A Greek tragedy of corporate pathology (John Wiley, 2005) focuses on the forces that lead smart executives into making dumb decisions. It was short-listed for the Blake Dawson Waldron prize for business literature. .

soxfirst.com focuses mostly on Sarbanes-Oxley. I will also look at corporate governance, ethics and the broader issues involving the relationship between business and society.

I am also a jazz critic and semi-professional musician.

My heroes are George Orwell, Marcus Aurelius and Dexter Gordon.
